Sakai Nisai Kohaku detail

Mr Sakai is pointing out where the Maruzome will develop.
On the left can be seen where the Beni will split to create the
third step.

Matsunosuke Nisai Kohaku

After the Cherry Blossom the serious job!

This kohaku we purchased in October 2007 and left to grow.

It is now beginning to split on the rear pattern. Mr Sakai tells me that after the Mud Pond it will be a 3 step. It is also steadily forming Marusome scaling at the kiwa. It has the most superb white skin nowWe are very pleased.

Now 53cm Sansai should be 60cm

Sakura in Isawa

The Cherry Blossom reached its peak today in Isawa and we were driven to see it by Toshio Sakai. As good a guide as a Koi breeder!!!

Mount Fuji and Sakura

The journey today to Isawa was blessed for the last hour with fine weather and unbelievable

views of Mount Fuji from the car.Sakura,or Cherry Blossom is revered in Japan.
